Ex Varsity prop/hooker John Smit's blazer available at auction Mon,17 March 2014

March 03, 2014

The Impi are on the road to the Eastern Cape where they face Fort Hare in a battle for second spot on the Varsity Shield table this evening. Former Varsity No 8 and Springbok captain Gary Teichmann was on hand to see the boys off.

Gary also presented the Impi with the match ball used in the final '98 Tri-Nations Test match on that momentous day in August 1998, when South Aftica won the Tri-Nations for the first time. The ball has been signed by the entire Springbok squad (including Nick Mallett), and will be donated towards for the silent auction during the breakfast with Mitch, Butch, Errol and Wynand in Jo'burg on 17 March.

Ex Varsity prop/hooker John Smit has donated his Springbok blazer to his alma mater's rugby club. This very generous donation is hugely appreciated by UKZN rugby.

John's blazer will be available at the silent auction during the breakfast in Johannesburg on Monday, 17 March.

Bids can also be made by emailing; there will be a reserve price.

Contact details for Reservations on the invitation. (Please get your reservations in to avoid disappointment.)
