Applications are open for the following mobility scholarships and will close in March 2014!
Erasmus Mundus Action 2 South Africa: Scholarship and Academic Opportunities in Europe
SA and the EU have been strategic partners since 2007. Higher Education is a key area for people to people contact and the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and expertise on issues of mutual interest between the two parties. In SA the programme provides opportunities to develop highly skilled human resources critical for economic growth and development; and contributes to the Internationalisation of Higher Education in SA, a strategic objective for the country.
The programme’s funding covers scholarships for students and university staff. These scholarships, are in respect of the four projects below include:
• Course fees
• Living expenses
As an Associate member of the various consortia IEASA encourages you to apply for this mobility offer which is fully funded by the European Union. You are eligible to apply in two categories. Target Group 1 as a member of a consortium or Target Group 2 as a South African that has obtained a degree giving you access to a Masters or PhD programme. Opportunities are also available for staff members to apply for a staff visit, to investigate any matter that is of interest within their professional area of focus.

1. EUROSA + www.eurosa.be
a. The EUROSA + Scholarship is coordinated by the University of Antwerp with CPUT as the Joint Coordinator.
b. You can apply to eight European universities in Belgium, Italy, Austria, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands and France.

2. AESOP http://aesop-em.org
a. AESOP is coordinated by the University of Toulouse and focuses on Heritage, Archeology and IT.
b. The Project coordinator is Prof Jose Braga and the Joint Coordinator is the University of the Western Cape.

3. EU Saturn www.eu-saturn.eu
a. EU Saturn has opportunities at five EU Universities in Belgium, Germany, Poland, Spain and Sweden.
b. The Joint Coordinator is the University of the Free State

4. ARISE www.intra-acp-arise.org
a. ARISE is coordinated by the University of Cape Town for Masters and PhD students from Africa.
b. The scholarships are for opportunities in Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda.
